Let’s face it—there is a lot of information out there on infant and baby sleep. You could spend hours looking on the internet and reading different blogs, or you could let me teach you and guide you through the whole process. When you are my client, your baby becomes my baby (not in a weird way!). We are a team. I am checking in with you daily, encouraging you, answering questions, and coaching you and your little one towards better sleep. I always tell people to consider me a friend that knows a lot about sleep and I mean it—I am your biggest cheerleader! Another fun fact—the letters in my name even rearrange to spell BABY! You can’t spell BABY without ABBY! :)

This is my least favorite question because who likes to hear a baby cry? Definitely not me. The honest truth is that babies cry to communicate with us and often when we work to change habits, it is met with resistance from the baby. Can I guarantee no tears? Sadly I cannot but I promise you I will work with each family to create a plan that your family is comfortable with. We will also spend lots of time talking about baby’s needs (both sleep needs and other needs!), which will help you determine the root of the crying and help you know when and how to intervene! It is my goal to limit crying as much as possible and also create a plan that allows you to support your baby exactly how you want to and still achieve good sleep. I want to change the idea around sleep training—it does not mean a baby has to “cry-it-out.” Absolutely not. Will there be tears? Probably, but with education, we can reduce those tears and create a plan that supports baby to better sleep in a way that works for your family!

I never knew I would talk about sleep so much in my life. I knew I loved to sleep, but I literally had no idea how my love for sleep would translate into a love for infant and baby sleep! I truly believe that each kiddo can sleep well and we can teach them. We teach our babies everything and sleep is just one of those things! I consider my approach to sleep training to be an “organic” one. It is my goal to set baby up for success through sleep education and watch the magic happen. While there is not a one-size-fits-all plan, there are scientific, tried and true facts and methods that we can use to help teach your baby to sleep well. I also believe that babies are not robots and we must treat each baby individually. That is why most of my packages come with one-on-one support. I want to be there to answer questions and guide you in those “curve-ball” moments in life!

Absolutely! I have phone consults available and have worked with families all over the world! Not even local to the USA? We can use WhatsApp to connect and communicate! Sleep is possible wherever you live!

My goal during a consultation is to educate and empower you. We will spend our time going through different aspects that impact baby sleep and discuss how to use those factors to help your baby get the best sleep possible. We will also discuss specific needs of your baby depending on age, family life, and parenting styles. There is also time for questions! My goal is for you to leave the conversation feeling empowered, knowledgeable and ready for some more sleep!

Sleep training has different meanings to different people so I first want to start with how I define sleep training. Sleep training to me is working to change a child’s sleep habits to help him or her sleep better and longer stretches for naps and nighttime. To do formal sleep training, I recommend starting around 10-12 weeks. If you are wanting to start earlier than that, it is not sleep training, but rather teaching your baby how to sleep well from the start (my favorite!)! I have a package for that too!

Absolutely. During the consultation, we will discuss how feedings affect sleep. My number one rule is to always feed a hungry baby. We will never withhold food from a hungry baby and my goal is that baby will naturally drop night feedings and he or she is able. I have breastfed all 3 of my boys and each has been able to learn independent sleep skills. It is possible and it is actually a myth that formula fed babies sleep better! However baby is fed, sleep is possible!
-
To give it to you quick: no. While I respect each family’s personal decisions, it is my goal to teach babies independent sleep skills, which means baby is sleeping in their own space.
-
YES! I would love to help you in your own space. If you are local to central NC, send me an email for pricing! I am available to help with bedtime or even stay overnight to help establish positive, independent sleep skills in your little one!
